Comment:

 I was able to verify that this was fixed in arramagong 3.0alpha3
 In VMWare Server console:
 Select: Summary -> Network Adaptor 1 -> Edit -> Disconnect

 Then Opened Firefox, http://localhost
 It comes up with message "It works"
 Then Opened up MapFish, which also worked, (although it has empty tiles
 for a background)
