with a tiny bit of investigation, it looks like someone with java 
knowledge needs to set
$JAVA_OPTS  to include  --XXaltjvm=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.15 
something
in the launch script...

this DVD is likely to get a lot of exposure..
I would argue its worth the time of someone to make this small change
