 Replying to [ticket:783 rouault]:

 I'll put something to the welcome message. (for next time, unless Alex
 wants to patch by hand)

 I'm not going to touch the menus any more for this release, but it is a
 good idea we'll get that in next time. (~/data/ needs a wee bit of cleanup
 too, still waiting to hear if ossim needs stuff there or if it can use the
 sample data sets)
