I just meant to commit the initial bunch. After that it should be obvious
where new translations should go.

Shrug, sure, why not. I'd suspect that would be some duplication of
effort, and the categories won't really change through time. However,
where to apply them might change so a single+central location for the
translators to quickly run through could be helpful for them.
processing a multi-language utf-8 file with grep et al might be a
nightmare to have them apply by script, but I'm sure we can figure
something out. On the other hand, for that reason it may just be simpler
to point people to the desktop-conf/ dir.
pros, cons....
