Hi everyone,
I would like to announce that before feature freeze of OSGeoLive 6.0 (10
July) we are planning to release one final alpha version of the
distribution in the next couple of days.
Until now the major issue has been using OpenJDK7 as the default Java
VM. So basically now is a good time for the projects affected by this
change to step in and update their installation scripts or/and their
packages.
Based on my latest tests on alpha3 we have the following results:
What was fixed from alpha2:
- 52nWPS and SOS.
- OTB
- Kosmo
- Mapnik is installed now but has demo issues
- OpenCPN
- pgRouting
- Spatialite
- Zygrib (still has some issues)
- liblas
New issues from alpha2:
- GeoServer not working (JAVA_HOME not configured, openjdk7 issue)
- GeoNetwork not working (same as GeoServer)
- Maptiler was not installed
Old issues still here:
- 52nWSS not working
- gpsdrive failed to install
- Mapfish failed to install
- Gosmore freezes
- ossim failed to install
- rasdaman failed to install
- tinyows failed to install
- zoo-project (broken demo)
Still including custom Sun-Java JRE:
- uDig
- Kosmo
Projects not listed above pass all tests and are fine at the moment...
Please let us know what is the status of the project you are involved
in, based on the above issue report.
As always I will issue a 24h notice before starting the new build for
everyone to commit their last minute changes.
Best regards,
Angelos
