 as a work-around you might check if there is a "compress filesystem"
 option from the advanced partition tool setup when you're installing to
 the VPS. the filesystem on the live dvd is compressed, as it is if you
 install to a USB stick, so will expand to 2x size or more once put on what
 it thinks is a real hard drive.
