Hi Luca,
What you will be needing to do is to update the install_ipython.sh
script to include the loading of the examples:
https://svn.osgeo.org/osgeo/livedvd/gisvm/trunk/bin/install_ipython.sh

Before committing any updates, please check with Angelos as we are
getting close to build freeze and we don't want to accidentally break
the build. (It might need to wait till next release.
