 Hamish, this functionality was broken since we moved to postgis 2.0 a
 couple of releases back.
 Back then we managed to get the application to run and the printing module
 to produce an output map, but we never took the time to fix every detail
 of the demo application.

 As far as I know, only the printing module is actively developed, since
 pylons efforts moved to pyramid framework some time ago.

 I would like to hear from the Mapfish development team about this, perhaps
 we should include something different as a demo, perhaps a Papyrus
 application?
