[Lizmap] Lizmap is on Discourse

Hello fellow LizMappers,

to be honest, LizMap is pretty much the only mailing list I’m part of –  i’m more used to forum-style support/exchange and therefore i really like Discourse.

If it is generally up for debate where/how the user/user or user/developer interaction should take place, i’d like to throw „GitHub Discussions“ into the ring – then everything would be in one place and you also have a good history/searchability. And you can vote for ideas – so you as developers can see the most whished features of your userbase etc 😊

Qfield does that pretty nicely i think, maybe have a look at their Github page: https://github.com/opengisch/QField/discussions

Anyways, Discourse looks like a step in the right direction, so i’m hooked!

Hi everyone,

Maybe you have followed that some mailing lists from the OSGEO mailman server are migrating/testing Discourse [0]

We have created a "Lizmap" category : https://discourse.osgeo.org/c/qgis/lizmap/48



They are many advantages of Discourse :

* Not everyone is familiar with mailing-list, creating filters etc

* Better display of messages, the web UI is way more modern than mailman (Mailman is reaching is end of life)

* Possible to define your own email notifications : all, only a weekly summary, possible to "watch" some specific categories etc

* It's possible to pin some messages etc.



We would like to give it a try, what do you think ?

It's possible to create some sub-category if needed, languages for instance.
