I'm not really keen on the "several public iterations" approach that I think
Allan is proposing. But I think it is very helpful for folks to provide
feedback which Allan did a great job of. I believe the Web Committee will
be doing a finishing and refinement on the selected logo and feedback here
from Allan and others can be helpful to the web committee in that process.
It isn't necessarily the case that the selected logo will be used exactly
as originally presented.
PS. I don't see a need to restrict any of the activity to "voting members".
The restricted number of voting members is intended to make certain
legal issues more managable, but in general we try not to treat voting
members of the foundation any differently than non-voting folks that show
a willingness to contribute. I'm a bit of a broken record on this point!
