I'd like to get back to this. I just stumbled on this page: 
http://geocanvas.sourceforge.net/, which is a library and a Python API. 
Do you Python people on this list know about this? We could have 
language pages in the wiki with links to resources. Or a languages page, 
which erases some of the artificial lines.

 I just added a Languages Project Request to the wiki.
