The code for hiding the legend has been taken out.

The attached patch allows the legend to stay visible at all times.

Thanks for this submission. I applied the patch and had a look at the
behavior. And yes, it now allows resizing of the legend/properties area
down to 0 pixels, so that's good. 

 

I noticed that when the legend size goes below a certain size (perhaps
it's the 80 pixel limit you mention below) that the legend/property area
goes white.  See attachement LegendResizePatchLessThan80.GIF.  I showed
this to a product designer and we would like it if you could continue to
show the legend/properties even at sizes less than 80 pixels.  If we can
get it to continue to show until even 5 or 10 pixels, that should be
okay.

Hi,

 

I would like to submit this patch for consideration. It removes the 80
pixel restriction, allowing the user to completely hide the legend pane.

 

The minimum width of the pane is changed from 80 to 0 to allow the
resizing.

The original visibility of the legend is set to hidden when the pane
width is less than 20. That value was changed to 80 so there would not
be problems for displaying the tables inside the legend.
