Heh, future-proofing is always good.

So when do we start serving SVG? :D   (yes, that is just a joke.  SVG
support in browsers is pathetic, though some of the SVG-based maps I've
seen sure looked promising)

DPI may not be available just yet in the browsers but it will be at some
point :)
