[mapguide-internals] MapGuide 1.2 RC2 and King.Oracle memory leak

Hi Zac,

In general It shouldn't be any significant slow down in provider.
As a meter of fact I didn't saw any memory leaks in King.Oracle code
itself so there were no significant changes of code.

Changes in latest releases of provider includes ( which can be connected
to performance):

1. Problem with memory leaks which I was able to detect was with error
in building with 10.2.0.3 ( 0.7.1 changed back to 10.2.0.1 ).
2. Disabling caching of FDO schema for several connections which can
cause slower performance with multi user access. I couldn't confirm any
memory issues because of it so I am planning to enable caching again.
3. When provider returns FDO schema to (MapGuide, Map,..) it will create
a copy of FDO schema to solve issue in MapGuide with multiuser
concurrent edits. But FDO schema should be cached inside MapGuide so
this "copy" should occur just once per FDO King.Oracle connection.
4. Creating new Oracle Environment for every new connection ( solving
multi user concurrent access issue)

Are you experiencing performance degradation in provider? If so in
MapGuide or Map ?
Do you experience any memory leaks with 0.7.1 ( MapGuide, Map) ?

Haris

Hi Harris,

I'm curious if fixing the memory leak make any difference to
performance?
