+1 on the meeting on Thursday.  I also agree that we shouldn't hold the
release back any longer if I am the only one having GDAL provider problems.
I am still afraid that once it is adopted more widely that he problems will
become more widespread, so we need to be prepared for that.

Me too.

With Frank's current changes, I have really stable performance, but Andy is
still having problems.

Personally, I would like to ship 1.2 with the current changes intact (plus
one additional fix to allow the ECW plugin to work correctly).

One thing that I would like to discuss is the possible ramifications on a
1.3/2.0 release in late September given the ongoing delays in
1.2 release due to raster instability.
