Thanks for the information Frank. Yes, I will still contribute that money
to the project(s) in some way or another.

What more can you (or Autodesk) tell us about the GDAL contract you are
working on? Are they doing away with the ATIL provider, or is there going
to be convergence of the best of both? Is their intention to release
anything you develop back to the GDAL and FDO projects?

Thanks for any information that you can provide.

Andy,

I do appreciate this offer but for now I've got a contract from Autodesk to
develop the GDAL based provider, and I'm willing to carry some overhead,
like producing custom binaries as goodwill related to that contract.

Once the contract is done, I think it might be interesting to consider some
mechanism to ensure the the mapguide os community gets the raster support it
needs. That could mean folks in the community coming forward to help
prepare custom builds, or an OSGeo binary distribution mechanism that has
everything, or MapGuide/FDO having some sort of sponsorship program to
support maintaining some non-autodesk components.

In the meantime, horde that cash in a "community support" jar and I'll try
and produce new DLLs tomorrow if folks are pretty sure the current ones
don't work.

Best regards,
