For GD just make a note that an RFC was proposed to remove the renderer. Until we know the outcome of that RFC you should hold off updating anything for GD.

Hi Walt,

Yes, we will need to add DWF Renderer support. Thanks for calling attention to it.

So I will make the following updates to the RFC:

* Add RasterGridSize setting under the RenderingServiceProperties section serverconfig.ini (instead of TileSize)

* Note support for AGG and DWF Renderers. But no support for GD Renderer (since you are removing it)

* Utilize the approach you suggested off-list:
  - invert the proposal outlined in the RFC
  - find the extent of the projected raster in device space
  - create the mesh of uniform triangles in device space
  - transform all the points in the mesh into the raster's CS, and then into device space
  - project the raster into the device space using the mesh.
  - Because the mesh is in device space, choosing its size guarantees you a minimum level of accuracy: the error in the reprojected raster will never be greater than the size of the individual triangles.

Thanks,
Tony

Tony,

Do you plan on updating DWF Renderer support so that DWF Viewer can display the reprojected rasters?

GD renderer will (hopefully) soon be removed. I should write a quick RFC for that...

Tony - consider renaming the TileSize parameter to GridSize. We already use the word "tile" in the context of the TileService, and using a different name would reduce confusion.

1. Does this feature work with both GD and AGG renders? or just the AGG?
2. To simplify the INI file content, should we have the TileSize property under the RenderingServiceProperties section?

Steve.

I would like to submit MapGuide RFC 51 - Raster Re-projection for review and comment.
