[mapguide-internals] About the WiX installer

Works for me.

I really like the idea of enabling/disabling the features using WiX
properties, primarily because internally I'll likely use Orca to create
MST files to do silent installs with specific features and paths so that
I can ensure that my test and prod environments are equivalent.

Subject: Re: [mapguide-internals] About the WiX installer

In the interest of getting a *functional* installer as quick as
possible, I
am going for the custom action route using the IIS custom actions
supplied
by Autodesk. The Wix IIS extension just seems confusing to me,
especially
with regards to:

1. Windows XP (IIS 5.1) support.
2. Enabling/Disabling IIS-specific stuff in a declarative approach that
Wix
uses.

By the time I have grokked this IIS stuff, I probably would've had a
working
installer via custom actions.
