The Apache/Tomcat upgrade was just build/installer work - I didn't do anything for them.

Thanks. Here's what I suggest...
Do not put out an alpha.
RFC 90 - wait for adequate-enough-for-beta resolution to your review comments (if they haven't been resolved already) and then check it in for the beta.
RFC 91 - we won't do the BDB or geos update for 2.2; I don't see us needing to hold up the beta for this.
I don't think that we need to do any code changes to upgrade to Apache 2.2.15 and Tomcat 6.0.24 --- Bruce, do you recall what needed to be done? I think that we only the installers and build environment need to be updated.
FDO - let's use the FDO 3.5.0 that is posted on the FDO site.
I'm assuming that the above can be done within the next week or two; and that's why I say not to do an alpha.
Tom

Hi Tom,
I just went through the RFC list. Here's what I have so far:
RFC 88 - AJAX Viewer support for custom initial view
- Jackie has retracted the RFC so it is out of scope for 2.2
RFC 89 - Upgrade to PHP 5.3
- Bruce has completed this work
RFC 90 - Meta Tiling Support
- UV has an implementation in the sandbox and I have done an initial review.
RFC 91 - Upgrade Apache/Tomcat/geos/dbxml to the latest version
- Is this RFC slated for 2.2? It is currently marked as such.
I have not looked at the defect list yet to see if there are any showstoppers.
One other open question is FDO. We are currently using FDO 3.5.0 RC1. I have been chatting with Greg a little bit and we may want to release with FDO 3.5.0 RC2. However, there are few build complications. I was hoping to do the Linux builds for FDO but "certain" providers require licensed SDKs. The discussion is ongoing.
Regards,
Trevor

Hi list,
Since we still have a few outstanding items before we release the beta, should we package up an Alpha 1 release based on the current code base?
Regards,
Trevor
