[mapguide-internals] MapGuide 2.2 Beta Release Readiness

Going forward PHP only officially supports FastCGI and has dropped ISAPI support - for both 32bit and 64bit.
However, the code is still there and only required a trivial tweaking to get the 64bit ISAPI module built so we could continue to use the ISAPI module for 2.2 and move to FastCGI for 2.3
Thanks,
Bruce

So PHP is only supporting FastCGI under IIS now? Does this apply to both 32bit and 64 bit?
Can we keep the ISAPI mapagent?

Jason,
You can build 64bit PHP from source and even the ISAPI module (with some trivial assemble work) - I have done both of these in the sandbox.
They should have bundled installers soon for 64bit, but ISAPI support has been dropped and so FastCGI is what we will need to move to eventually.
Thanks,
Bruce

Yeah.
All kinda nightmares with a single bundled installer if we go that way. May just have an x64 server install, and require users to download both 32bit and 64bit installers if they want web extensions on the same machine. Ouch.
But I don't think that installing the 32bit web extensions from the 64bit installer is something that is do-able. I wonder if we need to consider splitting the server and web installers back out into separate downloads?
Looks like there is no 64bit PHP for Windows yet, and they have switched from ISAPI to fastcgi, so we likely have limited options here.
