The only clue I have at the moment is that those swig error messages are in
the form

filename:linenumber: <error message>

Whereas I'm only getting

:linenumber: <error message>

But that still doesn't really help much.  I'm now roadblocked. Upgrading
swig doesn't look like an option as Autodesk has made some heavy
modifications to the one under Oem.
