 it isn't but in this case it is... apache isn't installed on port 80, you
 wouldn't normally install other apps onto a bundled apache... it's tightly
 bundled...

 we should be following the existing platform conventions where ever
 possible, this feel's no standard... but i do understand were your coming
 from ....

 back to the versioning... this blocks installing multiple releases for
 testing.. bad.... beta's could always adopt this approach
