With other mapping applications, I have often found that I want to group
several layers together as a single entity to keep maps as simple as
possible for my users. As well, the generated legend symbols for layers
can be non-optimal for presenting the user with a cartographically
accurate key to the map.
It would be extremely useful if layer groups and individual layers could
have their legend representations (folder icon as well as expanded "theme"
image) manually overridden to point to a user-provided resource, stored in
the repository.
I would expect that these would have width and height requirements for
icons, and a width requirement for theme images.
