 I tried your style on a simple SDF data set that had some horizontal and
 vertical lines, and the labels looked ok.  This was using the current open
 source code.

 What version(s) of MapGuide are you seeing the problems with?

 Since this may be data-dependent, would you be able to create a small
 package?
