Comment:

 I don't believe that that directory is supposed to be mapped as a virtual
 dir / application; it's only supposed to be referenced by the
 mapviewerajax virtual directory, and then only if the .Net viewer is
 selected during installation.  Are you saying that mapviewernet isn't
 properly referenced by the mapviewerajax virtual directory?

 If this is the case, did you select an IIS install, select the .Net
 viewer, and have ASP.Net 2.0 installed before you ran the installer?
