 This issue manifested itself in the failure of the redlining tool in
 flexible web layouts based on maps using the spherical mercator coordinate
 system, as used by popular commercial mapping sites such as Google Maps,
 Bing and Yahoo.

 The coordinate system API failed to convert the WKT string defining the
 coordinate system of the map to its corresponding EPSG code, as required
 by OpenLayers. The result was that redlining features could be created and
 saved, but when they were loaded back in they were treated as LL84
 coordinates, and didn't show up on the map.
