 In map editor changing the name of a group that has layers inside from
 "old" to "new" and saving the map produces a validation error saying that
 layers belong to non-existent group "old".

 Opening in XML view the tags <group> of the layers inside the group were
 not updated to "new".

 The expected result is that the tags <group> of the layer are
 automatically updated to the new group name
