Comment:

 On Ubuntu the /var/lock/mgserver directory is not created from the deb
 packages and does not appear to "stick around" after installation.
 Creating the directory inside mgserverd.sh is a straightforward solution
 to the problem.

 Fix submitted to branches/2.2 under r5622
