Comment(by crispinatime):

 I ran the exe (installed VC redist 2008 - still needed?) and extracted the
 MSI from the %tmp% folder before cancelling that install.

 Ran the MSI with /log c:\temp\mg25.log and doesn't seem to be anything
 relevant to the inability to proceed (attached)
