Since a long time we (and Autodesk) know that there must be a language specific problem in the raster provider - is anyone working on the solution ? It is very important for us that we can use raster images !!!

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

If you guys are interested in simply reading data from Oracle (i.e. no
insert, update, transactions), you can also try to use the OGR provider
against your oracle server and see if that works. The binary that's
posted on the osgeo site is linked with oci, so it should have Oracle
support.

Subject: RE: [mapguide-users] Experiences with Oracle Spatial

Joel,
I also tried to work with Oracle Spatial with some of the earlier beta
releases and experienced similar problems. I would like to test this
again as well (your post made me think about it again), but my spatial
features don't seem to be exposed when I configure a new connection to
an Oracle Spatial datastore. It seems to treat it as aspatial data
since I do not see the portions of the data connection dialog that
pertains to feature source configuration. Did you have to do anything
special to get Studio to see your spatial data? In my case, the data
originated from an outside system and has not been configured in
Autodesk Map so no feature classes have been defined - I wonder if
that's the problem.... I can't find any documentation on the steps to
author Oracle Spatial data in MapGuide Enterprise.

Am I correct in assuming that the Autodesk FDO Provider for Oracle also
applies to Oracle Spatial or should I have another FDO provider in my
data connections dialog?

Thanks.

Can anyone provide some feedback to me on their experiences with the
Oracle
Spatial FDO from the Enterprise edition? Has anyone gotten it to work in
a
satisfactory manner? Are you seeing stability/performance issues? What
is
your setup?

Our experiences aren't great. Some of our data displays but is quite
slow.
Creating a layer from an Oracle Spatial source is extremely slow (over a
minute just to start editing). I suspect this is related to the reading
of
the schema metadata, but I don't really know.

You can see my original (as yet unanswered) post here regarding one of
my
specific problems here:

Even a simple yes or no would be helpful at this point.

Thanks,
