[mapguide-users] Newbie: is Studio necessary ?

Gianni,

DM Solutions Group recently announced an open source, web-based
version of Studio that will be distributed with Map Guide Open
Source. It won't provide the full capabilities of Studio, but it
will provide the basic elements for creating Maps (upload/manage
data, create and edit layers and maps). There are many more things
that could be done to make the web-based version almost as capable as
Studio, but for now it should serve quite well and we hope that, over
time, others will contribute to make it more effective.

Look for another announcement late next week.

Cheers

Paul
