Asunto: RE: [mapguide-users] Studio for International When???
The cause of this problem has been identified and fixed.
Problem Description:
The problem will happen on any OS where the OS-specific equivalent of this
path:
C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\Local Settings\Temp
contains a non-ASCII character. For example, for a Spanish OS, the
equivalent path is:
C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\Configuración local\Temp
Notice the non-ASCII character in "Configuración".
In Studio, if you try to load an SDF, SHP, etc., and the "Layer" checkbox is
checked in the "Where do you want to load the resources" section, when you
click on the oa"Ld Resources" button, Studio will display a message box with
the text: "Argument is null". Also, if you are using Studio's Map or Layer
Editor, and you try to use the File Save As XML command and specify a
non-ASCII character in the file name/path, the XML file will not be created.
Problem Solution:
To fix the problem in exsting versions of MapGuide Studio, you will need to
replace file Autodesk.MapGuide.Studio.MdfModel.dll located in the Studio
install folder (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\MapGuideStudio2007) with the one
attached to this posting. This DLL (which has a version number of
1.0.0.17304) can be used with the Preview version of Studio (also version
number 1.0.0.16802) which is posted on www.autodesk.com/mapguidestudio
<http://www.autodesk.com/mapguidestudio> .

Subject: [mapguide-users] Studio for International When???
When do you think that MapGuide Studio will be working with international
versions of Windows like mine (spanish)? Believe it or not I have been
trying to get an english copy of Windows all week and for one reason or
another I can't!!
Is there a fix for the 'Argument is null' issue that presents when using
Studio with international versions?
Thank you.
