Hello Bart,

Yes, you'll need to stop and restart the web server (IIS or Apache) in order to make your changes register immediately. This is to flush information that's cached on the web tier, which remains resident in the web server for performance reasons.

Subject: [mapguide-users] how to refresh a WMS service?

Hi list,

what is the normal procedure for refreshing a WMS service?

Using the Site Administrator, I had changed the Server Name from the
default "test" to "localhost:8008", saved it, but the change did not
become apparent when doing a new GetCapabilities request. I checked the
properties file and it had been adapted correctly.

I tried restarting the Windows NT service, but no luck.

In the end I rebooted my system, and after that the change had been made.

But what is the normal way to do this with a reboot?

Best regards,
Bart
