[mapguide-users] Problems Building Mapguide with VS 2005

You can certainly try building from the solutions. You'll have to
manually copy files around afterwards - stuff the batch file does for
you.

Before you do that though, take a quick look at the build.bat file in
the fdo subfolder. According to your log, it just finished successfully
building thirdparty, and now it's moving on to fdo. In my copy of
fdo/build.bat there's a line with "goto start_build" near the top, and a
little further down is the actual start_build label. Just verify your
file correctly has these lines - maybe add a few echo statements to
trace where it's at in the batch file.

No - that was a typo in the email unfortunately, not the error...the joy
of building on one machine and emailing from another.

Can I build fdo from the solutions instead of using the build.bat?

Did a typo get introduced into one of the build.bat files? The error
indicates it can't find the "spart_build" label. Shouldn't that be
"start_build"?

Yes I did:

Build -o=c:\SourceCode\mgdev\oem

The source for fdo is in the folder c:\sourceCode\fdo\Opensource_fdo

Thanks

You used the 'build.bat' batch file for building FDO, right? What
arguments did you pass it?

I thought I had - but on more careful inspection I have an error in the
fdo build process.

Build Succeeded

            0 Warning(s)

            0 Error(s)

Time Elapsed 00:00:02.23

            1 file(s) copied.

            1 file(s) copied.

            1 file(s) copied.

            1 file(s) copied.

COPY THIRDPARY HEADER FILES

End thirdparty Build

14:48

The system cannot find the batch label specified - spart_build

There was a build error.

Any ideas on this one?

Thanks again

Chris

Did you build FDO first, as per the build instructions? GisMessage.h is
an FDO include file.

Hi,

I'm attempting to build the Mapguide server solution with VS2005 (on a
Windows 2003 RC2 server) however I'm getting the following error:

Fatel Error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'GisMessage.h'

in Exception.h line 25. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Chris
