[mapguide-users] Mapguide Server no longer showing in list of services

I believe there is a command line option to install the process as a service. From a dos prompt in the server\bin folder you can type mgserver.exe /install.
 
Try this instead of a repair or reinstall.

Well, I'm able to run it interactively via the command line.   I'll just need to see about reinstalling it as a service.

 

I did get it to repair.  I just started a new install and it then complained about the software already being installed.   But before I clicked OK to that alert, I saw it created a Setup.msi.   I just referenced that one when repairing the server.  It repaired, but didn't bring back the Mapguide service to my service list.

I´ve had this problem once before, and as you did I try to repair, but got the same problem as you have. In my case only a reinstall solved this ...

Well, now all of a sudden, Mapguide does not show up in the list of services and it's not running.   Wondering if anyone has run into this and what they did to solve the problem.  I'm thinking about re-installing the server software...Tried to repair, but it's looking for an installation file that is no longer on the machine.
