[mapguide-users] External Layers from WMS

It looks like you (or whoever published the WMS data) is missing the
<BoundingBox> metadata so MGOS does not know what the extent of the data is.
If you author an MGOS layer from that WMS server datasource, you can then
define a map and enter manual Initial View coordinates into the map
definition. These values got me in the ballpark and I was then able to view
data:
Lower left: -124,48
Upper right: -123,56

Subject: [mapguide-users] External Layers from WMS
I have been able to use the WMS FDO to create a data connection in Studio
to:
http://libcwms.gov.bc.ca/wmsconnector/com.esri.wsit.WMSServlet/ogc_layer_ser
vice?REQUEST=GetCapabilities
I have made a layer using this data connection as the feature source in
Studio. Doing this creates a list box of layers in the Layer Editor in
Studio, the same ones that show up when you use the Gaia browser. I chose
this one:
BC_BASEMAP_LINES_5KM_water
which I can see quite clearly in Gaia. However, it does not show up in the
Preview screen in MGE. I note that the scale is rather large, namely:
1000000000000
However, making the scale smaller does not produce any output.
I added this layer to a map and I noticed that the coordinates on Gaia are
quite different than on the map, so I set them as in Gaia, 143,183, 181,
901, 1,918,550, 1,733,050. However, no matter how I zoom, it doesn't show
up.
I think our WMS configuration is correct, as our server serves up layers to
the Gaia browser. However, external layers do not show up in MGE. Any
suggestions?
Thanks
