[mapguide-users] ODBC problem...

Hey James,

This is exactly what we were experiencing as well on this particular map
we were trying to Join to SQL Server. What I realized after a while is
that it appeared like MapGuide was working to display the data, but with
the all of these extra fields it would just chug away and not show
anything.... I then set a lower scale range, zoomed in, and voila...
The graphics and joined data appeared...

But it was extremely frustrating as the 'hour glass' stopped in the
preview which leads you to believe it's done working... When in
reality, I think it's still working away... But there is too much for it
to handle. Zoom in, or set a smaller scale range and it works.

Just some thoughts.

This is exactly what were experiencing with MapGuide Enterprise SP1 when
trying to join DB tables to our SDF layers. We can see all the fields
from the database but we get only empty maps. All works well when
reading only from the SDF.

It looks like we will have to continue placing all our data inside the
SDF for a while longer.
