Yes, but acperssubentnaming17.dll (whew what a name), is delay loaded by
acdb. So it should not be a problem at load time.

When I load dete.exe into the dependency walker I get an error saying
acdb17.dll cannot load ACPERSSUBENTNAMING17.DLL. When I copy that dll
from AutoCAD Map 2007 folder I get further DLL load errors in Dependency
Walker.

Is it by any chance loading the wrong DLL, particularly the wrong
acdb17.dll? If you have a tool like depends.exe you should run it and
see where dete.exe is loading its dependencies from -- if it is not from
the Studio directory then that would be the problem.

Mapguide was first in my case and no I don't run them at the same time.
I have uninstalled Map2007 and studio and then re-installed Studio with
no change in results.
When I run Studio I watch the status line and it goes through the entire
load sequence and after loading managedmapapi it says opening test.dwg
and immediately gives the dbx cas4 4 error.
I can see the load sequence happening on a machine that works and it is
the same sequence.

Which product was installed first? I assume MapGuide was last?
You aren't running both apps at the same time are you? You can only run
1 MapGuide instance when doing DWG imports because of the underlying
Autocad engine that is loaded. That would imply you can't run Map or
Civil at the same time either. If it's not a runtime problem then it has
to be DLL's.

Andrew,
Sorry I misread your post a little. The 2d/3d issue is not with DXF it
is with DWF. I was having a problem with both but the DWF was just the
3d issue.
I have AutoCAD Map 3d 2007 on my machine. However, I have tried it
successfully on other machines that have the same version of the
software and it works fine.
There is definitely something strange going on here because you are the
third person I know who has this issue. Not sure how Autodesk resolves
it if they cannot reproduce the problem.

After posting here, I did think to go check the Autodesk groups and saw
your post (with no solution). I don't see why they're be any 3D info in
my dxf, but I'll give it another shot tomorrow and make sure it's 2D
only.
As for the version, this has happened with all versions available from
the Autodesk website. Currently I'm using the latest one with SP1......I
should also note that I've got AutoCAD Land Desktop and Civil 3D
installed on my PC.....conflicting dll's sounds to me like a pretty
logical problem.....the only question is how to fix it!
