Adding point into map

Hi all,

I am new to this software, and I got some doubt regarding adding a symbol or
point onto a map (overlap the map) just like the dotnetviewersample-search
address features. when the address is found a symbol will be marked on the
map.The question is how can I apply such features to my map with different
symbol. Please give your guidance and help me to solve the problem...
