Hi Brian,

Yes, the source code for the ArcSDE provider is available as open source
(https://fdoarcsde.osgeo.org/).

It uses SDE client libraries. You have to make sure that you have these
dll's available and in your path: sde91.dll, sg91.dll, and pe91.dll. It does
not currently support raster, but it does support versioned databases
through the FDO long transaction versioning commands.

Thanks,
Orest.

hello all

a few questions on the ArcSDE SDO for Oracle/SQLServer

1) Is the source code available as part of the free community download? If
no, any pointers on where to find out about Enterprise?

2) Does it use native SQL communication or does it rely on the SDEClient
libraries provided by ESRI?

3) How's the performance when compared to other SDE access layers? How about
ESRI tools?

4) Does it have Raster support?

5) Long shot - does it work with Versioned geodatabases? (e.g. delta tables)

cheers

brian
