Hi Juan,
I am looking at this memory stuff and I can't see any memory leek's in
provider. I've checked with unit test, code and also tried on several
configurations.
Anyhow, I would like to check it further.
I would like to know which configuration you are having (Ent + 10.2
which client + one machine?)
For example I tried:
XP, MG Ent 2007, Oracle 10.1, Instant client, altogether on one machine
Altogether, It eats up around 620 MB and it stays around that no meter
how much I query data.
You sad: "many layers", you noticed that adding layers is consuming
memory ?
How many layers you are trying with ? All from Oracle I suppose?
Thanks,
Haris

Hi Juan,
I am looking at this memory usage.
Which version of MG are you using ?

True...I was thinking about it. I would just need to construct the
GEOMETRY in the view. I'll try it out.
Thanks.

I would suspect it is a memory leak in provider. I will check it.
"I just wish I could use this for non Oracle Spatial tables with
coordinate fields" - you mean like displaying points from x,y columns ?
Beside suporting it in provider, one of the ways could be to create a
view in Oracle for it.

Haris:
I'm testing this now and it seems that your provider is pulling up the
spatial data much faster. The only problem that I'm running into is the
server process is eating up memory at a large clip when adding more
layers from Oracle. It's gotten up to over a GIG. I've had to
shutdown Mapguide server completely and then restart it. The memory
usage will go back up as I interact with more Oracle spatial layers.
Not sure if it's more on the Mapguide server side or the provider.
I just wish I could use this for non Oracle Spatial tables with
coordinate fields. The ODBC provider will not show tables for me.

Hi,
newer version of King.Oracle 0.3.3 provider:
* Support for Spatial Views
It will display views based on spatial tables. Views needs to be
added into sdo_geom_metadata for provider to find them.
