If your starting fresh I would use PHP since you need that installed anyway
for the server and the web studio. Not the easiest to learn though. PHP is
the heart of Open Source for web applications. Other options would be
ASP.NET and Java based. Since you know VB ASP.NET might be easier to pick up
at first. Again even if you code in ASP.NET you still need PHP installed.
Plus ASP.NET is not easily installed on a server running something other
than Windows (not open source).

What is the best programming languge to use for customization of MapGuide. I
know some VB6. Is it PHP is the better one as it customize mainly on the
server site? Confused!
