I think it depends on whether any of the extra features of the
Enterprise edition are important to you or not. If you don't care
about the differences between the projection libraries (Mentor vs
PROJ), the commercial Oracle, SQL and Raster providers, and the
bundled support, then you probably won't notice the difference :)
Oh, except that you will probably have access to wonderful new
features in the open source version a little more quickly! And you
get to converse with us on this list too ...
