[mapguide-users] How to: filter spatial data?

Hi everyone!

I'm new in developing Mapguide API.

I'd like to filter data displaeyd in an existing layer. 
The layer has been added to repository by Autodesk studio, and now I try to
filter (something to display and something to hide) using API. 
How can I do it from the task pane using simple query, for example "ID > 10
AND ID <20". 

I'm C# developer, but any examples also in PHP might bi usefull.

I've attached a sample picture. I'd like to dynamicly hide/show those areas.
