[mapguide-users] Export Map Window to DWG

No, there is no way to export from MapGuide Open or Enterprise to DWG. You
could potentially write a custom application that exported all of the
viewable vector data to SDF or Shape files or spatial databases using FDO.
But, to get it into DWG format, you would have to rely on AutoCAD API's
since DWG is not exposed via FDO. Or, you could look at semi-automating the
process using Safe Software FME. Safe does have a product which does
something similar called Spatial Direct,
http://www.safe.com/products/spatialdirect/index.php, but as far as I know
this has not been ported for use with the newer MapGuide as of yet. And, it
would not be open source and has traditionally been rather expensive (around
$10k).

Subject: [mapguide-users] Export Map Window to DWG

All,

Sorry for the basic question. Have been doing a lot of research but haven't
been able to find an answer.

1) Is MGOS able to export the active Map Window to a DWG for instance?
2) If so, does anybody have any sample code/ideas for how it might be done?

Thanks!

Jeff
