Might want to wait until next week then; I think we're projecting the
1.1 release for this weekend.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FASTCGI
My settings that I think are different than default (it's been a while):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FASTCGI\.fcgi
"StartServers"=dword:00000008
"MaxServers"=dword:00000008

Im running 1.0.2. I plan to go to 1.1 as soon as it it released
however.
Hmm... Id rather not take fastcgi out of the loop, but perhaps its
something I need to consider.
Also, the web service doesn't behave this way on my desktop development
machine... just on the production server.

What version are you running?
There have been some issues with the fastcgi app that give this kind of
response.
I've found that this behaviour is limited by setting certain registry
settings (have to go but will check later).
You can also take fastcgi out of the loop, but it's slower that way.

Subject: [mapguide-users] MapGuide API - HTTP 500 Errors
Hi all,
I am experiencing some strange behavior with a web service I have
developed that hits the MapGuide API.
I have deployed an MGOS application developed in .Net that utilizes the
AJAX viewer.
I have also deployed a web service (also in ..Net) that exposes a
specific portion of the functionality contained in the full-blown
application.
If the application has been idle for some time (as in not getting any
hits), and I hit the web service, I get HTTP 500 errors. When I get the
500 error, if I hit the MapGuide application, then try the web service
again, the 500 error goes away and the web service behaves properly.
Any clue what might be going on here?
Thanks,
Greg
