[mapguide-users] MrSID files through GDAL FDO provider

Frank,
Here is a the result of running MapGuide from the console in interactive and
debug mode.  It appears that it is trying to use the ECW driver to open the
MrSID initially.  Based on your description below, perhaps that is by
design.  I guess what the original poster and I are saying is that it might
make sense if it is a .sid extension then just use the MrSID driver and skip
the overhead of trying the other drivers.

GDAL: GDALOpen(D:\GIS_Data\City_of_Austin\2003Aerials/995165.sdw) called.
GDAL: Now trying ECW driver.
ECW: OpenECW(D:\GIS_Data\City_of_Austin\2003Aerials/995165.sdw)
GDAL: GDALOpen(D:\GIS_Data\City_of_Austin\2003Aerials/995165.sid) called.
GDAL: Now trying ECW driver.
ECW: OpenECW(D:\GIS_Data\City_of_Austin\2003Aerials/995165.sid)
MrSID: Opened zoom level 1 with size 2500x2500.

MrSID: Opened zoom level 2 with size 1250x1250.

MrSID: Opened zoom level 3 with size 625x625.

MrSID: Opened zoom level 4 with size 313x313.

MrSID: Opened zoom level 0 with size 5000x5000.

MrSID: Opened image: width 5000, height 5000, bands 3

Andy,

I'm not sure what you mean about this.  The GDAL architecture is such that
each format driver, in order, is offered a file until one determines that it
belongs to them and the open proceeds.
