yes it is...just see source code of
http://data.mapguide.com/mapguide/devguide/index.php
there are very good example...so if you get x,y of points, line...etc.

the simply use database whit GIS suport (PostGIS in PostgreSQL) put this 
cords into database...it work.

...you call DigitizeXXX javascript method from viewer in webbrowser.
so this is work for developer.
