[mapguide-users] Good Development Environment for MGOS

In the last three years I have also become an immense fan of PHP. Before
we started the MapGuide Open Source / Enterprise project I had never
written a line of PHP code. Now it is the first language I use for
testing / experimenting with MapGuide stuff. Why? Because it is just
plain easy to write, debug, test, and deploy just about any kind of web
application in PHP.

FYI - Tim Bray (no relation) of Sun Microsystems gave a very
controversial presentation on PHP last fall. A summary can be found at
the link below with tons and tons of interesting follow-up.

While it is all very interesting, you wont find a silver bullet answer
to your question in there. The bottom line is that MapGuide supports all
three environments pretty well and unless you are out to learn something
new, you should probably pick the one you are currently the most
comfortable with.
