Bob's sessions from last year's AU went into some strategies (both DOM management, and simple string replacement) for managing XML resources.
You can find the relevant session here:
<http://au.autodesk.com/sessions/civilandgeospatial/detail/17111/ <http://au.autodesk.com/sessions/civilandgeospatial/detail/17111/> >
This appears to have been turned into an Autodesk white paper too; Imaginit has it posted (with their branding attached) here:
<http://www.rand.com/imaginit/1/rss/viewitem.asp?feedid=NEWS_ALL&guid=580 <http://www.rand.com/imaginit/1/rss/viewitem.asp?feedid=NEWS_ALL&guid=580> >
But it's not available at <http://www.autodesk.com/learnmapguide <http://www.autodesk.com/learnmapguide> > yet.

What would be the best route to take if you wanted to take an XML file (or xml in variable) and create the weblayout on the fly dynamically adding a mapdefinition? I just want to see if there is something easy to follow example wise out there.
